How do I fix formatting issues in a Word doc that was sent to a Mac from a PC and then sent out by email to a mailing list?
Word is a horrible format to use for a document that will be distributed. Style definitions will vary from system to system, and you cannot override that, so formatting will be quite random. If you need to distribute documents and you want the formatting to be stable, save the document as a PDF and distribute that.Failing that, construct a Word document template with defined styles, and circulate that, together with instructions on how to use a template properly. I’ve tried this on numerous occasions, and all I have proved is that most people don’t know how to use Word templates, or how to follow instructions.PDF is the way to go.
